Catholic Evening Prayer Before Sleep

Heavenly Father, it's getting dark and calm. The day is finally ending. Thank you for being there for me, even when I sometimes forgot about you in the midst of my everyday duties. As always you held me in your hands with so much love and care. I love to be your Child.

Dear God, thank You for all the beauty of Your creation that I could experience today. Thank you for what my eyes could see: white clouds, warm sunlight, vibrant plants, animals and my precious loved ones. Thank you for what my ears could hear: birds singing, the sound of the wind, soft voices of friends and family members. Thank you for what my hands could touch, for those I could hug with open arms. 

My God, thank you for all of your Great Gifts for me. I'm incredibly sorry that somedays I can't fully appreciate them. I'm sorry that I usually only think about myself, being so selfish. Forgive me for giving less love to others than I should. Forgive me for forgetting Your commandments..At this moment, when the night is coming, I offer you everything I have experienced today: great and small joys, great and small sorrows. Please, take all my worries away, I know I can trust You. I believe with all my heart in Your plan for me and my entire life. Your plans are much greater than my dreams. Please bless me for this night and the next day in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
